Please Help SUM as an Office Volunteer

Greetings in the name of our Lord,

By God’s grace, SUM continues to serve our congregation and community through many ministries.

During our Understanding SUM Together gathering, one of the needs you identified was to review our church’s structure and the way we coordinate our ministries. In particular, we heard the importance of sharing responsibilities more broadly and sustainably, rather than relying too heavily on a small number of leaders.

One area where this need is especially clear is our church office. With the many ministries, programs, and communications that flow through the office, we recognize the need to review priorities and workflows while also providing additional support.

As one practical step, SUM is forming an Office Corps—a team of volunteers who can support our church office, ministry leaders, and the wider work of SUM as needed. Volunteers may assist with seasonal ministries during Lent, Advent, and Christmas; church-wide efforts such as stewardship; special projects and communications; and office coverage when our Church Office Manager is away.

The ministries and mission of SUM depend on the gifts God has entrusted to all of us—our time, talents, and resources. The Office Corps (or Church Office Ministry Team) is one way we can share those gifts and the work of ministry more broadly as a congregation.

If you are interested in helping with communication projects, special projects, phone coverage, emails, or other administrative support, please contact the SUM Church Office at office@sumct.org and let us know your interests and availability.

Thank you for your prayers, care, and willingness to serve. By sharing the work together, we can continue serving our congregation and community with warmth, care, and faithfulness.

Grace and peace,
Pastor DH
