ADULT SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Happy Almost Summer,
While most of us are putting our Adult Spiritual Growth books away until the fall, our generous facilitator Susan Samuel is once again offering two books for you to share with each other this summer. The first book will be discussed on July 6th and the second on August 10th. Please read the details about each book below. Everyone is welcome, even if you don't finish or read the book. It is all about the fellowship.
Blessings,
Eileen M Brogan
The Gifts of Imperfection, 10th Anniversary Edition - Brene Brown
Monday, July 6: 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the Annex
This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet grassroots movement that starts with each of us saying, “My story matters because I matter.” A movement where we can take to the streets with our messy, heartbreaking, grace-filled, and joyful lives. A movement fueled by freedom that comes when we stop pretending everything is OK when it isn’t. A call that rises up from our
bellies when we find the courage to celebrate those intensely joyful moments even though we’ve convinced ourselves that savoring happiness is inviting disaster. Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance.
The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho - August
Monday, August 10: 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the Annex
Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined. Santiago's journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, most importantly, following our dreams.
