2026 Stewardship: Fellowship

As we enter our third week of the 2026 stewardship campaign, Mission: Possible, we are focusing on Fellowship and how SUM uses pledges to support Fellowship. Fellowship accounts for 8% of SUM's annual budget. However, please do not underestimate this number just because it seems small; Fellowship is the bond that unites us all and is a fundamental part of Christianity. One scripture often cited when discussing fellowship is Acts 2:42: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” I personally appreciate this scripture because of the specific mention of the breaking of bread. In the Methodist church, we are somewhat well-known, or maybe notorious, for potlucks and sharing a meal.

SUM is blessed to have many ways for members to join in fellowship. Whether through small group ministries, Bible studies, music ministries, sharing a meal, supporting others in need, or mission trips, fellowship offers a space where individuals can connect authentically, support each other, and celebrate life's joys in Christ. This sense of belonging emphasizes the Methodist values of grace, hospitality, and inclusivity, welcoming everyone regardless of background or circumstance. This church is where lifelong friendships are formed.

As we continue this period of stewardship, we ask that you prayerfully consider pledging to support our many life-changing and world-impacting ministries at SUM. Pledges can be made online here (www.sumct.org), using the pledge cards that were mailed out, or by picking up an extra pledge card at the church.
